Why “discursive living”?
I love academic writing, but I doubt that many readers outside of academia appreciate that discursive writing is a happy form of life. The site header implicitly expresses that, I hope.
Discursive writing is a form of teaching, too. Outside of academia, it’s easily regarded as elite, but it isn’t. It’s fun; and, to my mind, oriented by desire to share ideas.
Learning is fun; discursive writing expresses that. Inquiry is fun, and showing aspects of that is a pleasure.
Thinking is fun. I enjoy believing I can be useful for others by working with that online.
Being well is fun. I’m a happy person, engaged in work that matters.
