summer 2025

See the site home page for the current update.

I’m enthused about upcoming points in my conceptual story.

But you think I lose credibility by calling a discursive venture a story?

Narrativity is an elastic thing, like phenomenality, or “Literary” sensibility.

Oh!: One can’t have informality in philology?

Let alone serious philosophical caring.

Whatever.

Sept. 5 | The eight short parts of “iso-belonging” prospect my interest in isomorphic thinking relative to aspects of belonging, from a horizon of PCS continuum (August 25 below) to conceptual modeling of action. It’s the last part of “a person-al humanity,” which prospects a differential holism of being, scaled from inner psychality to political life.

August 29 | “belonging” is the third part of “a person-al humanity.”

August 26 | “On ’the essence of beyng’“ is in dialogue with Heidegger expressing his sense of “beyng.” That also provides a short sense of Heidegger’s practicality of interest in being with other persons through emancipatory teaching.

August 25 | “The PCS continuum of life” is second part of “a person-al humanity.”

August 21 | “Richard Capobianco’s mystical Heidegger” is a close reading of his essay. Capobianco’s exemplary engagement with Heidegger as mystical is invalid, but critical reading of his essay by very close-to-text appreciation might be useful for others, especially for philosophy of education. My reading may seem tedious at times, but RC's own essay is available by link (and PDF download) at the top of my discussion, for following along .

August 8 | “Person-al being” offers a set of short discussions on ways of which We are “human” and beyond, following July’s short “personity.” It’s the first part of the four-part project on “a person-al humanity.”

August 4 | “A note on thinking” appreciates Heidegger’s analysis of existence as prescient philosophy of action.

August 2 | “Let’s clear thinking” is another side trek into others’ mistaken senses of Heidegger, today about mistaking his concern for effective teaching
as being about himself; and about one influential scholar’s avoidance of Heidegger’s orientation toward real persons whom he is teaching.

Philosophy values de-congestion of thinking which may importantly (for a life) clear paths toward new insights.

July 27 | Complementing my playful inner worldliness of last week, “uncon-
cealment...mysteries of being
” offers a sense of engaged being in the real world, echoing Heidegger’s in-the-world-being, which is no mere state of mind, rather one’s fidelity to there being care for there being practical need.

July 24 | “Gardening moments” is—to put it lightly—a preface to technicalities of leading life in true wilderness. “Personity” is my first sprout (but my intent to post short topics for later expansion might as well be new blog posts).

June 27 | Today’s reverie, ”traces of another singularity,” begins by linking
to a posting several days ago on journaling (June 21), leading into a page on
the flow of days (June 22), then to being in Time practically, yet expansively.
It begins an upcoming series of discussions which will incorporate aspects
of earlier pages (2024, winter of 2025), but is independent of them: past as prelude.

June 20 | I’m easily distracted from my path (building after the blueprint, protocols) by appeals of newly anticipated prospects for conceptual cohering.
A radiant horizon isn’t good for staying in one locale, you know—though
I’ve lived in Berkeley over 45 years.

Getting sidetracked by fascinations may not be optimal for reaching a given goal, but the eventual reach may be better for it.
